Nestled in the lush plains of the southern Serengeti, within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ndutu Mobile Tented Camp offers the quintessential safari experience. Operational between November and April each year, this seasonal camp is intimate and remote – perfect for the discerning traveler wishing to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life and truly immerse themselves in nature.
Lemala Ndutu Mobile Tented Camp offers ringside seats to the Great Wildebeest Migration. It is also the place to be during the height of the calving season, which attracts a high concentration of predators to the area who prey on the young and vulnerable. Although full day safaris, game drives, guided nature walks and hot-air balloon rides are available, you may not even have to hop onboard a 4×4 to witness the spectacle of galloping zebra and wildebeest as they occasionally pass right through the camp. Bush picnic lunches and dinners consisting of international and Swahili-influenced cuisine is another highlight during your stay.
Nine luxurious, well-equipped mobile tents are perched on the banks of a quiet, shaded permanent marsh on Lake Ndutu. The hardwood flooring, carpets, flushing toilets, and hot showers in the tents make them incredibly comfortable. Sundowners can be enjoyed around a blazing campfire each night while guests take in the sounds of the night including the chorus of whooping hyenas. This truly sublime location captures all the natural drama of the plains as it unfolds.
