This 16 Day African Photo Safari has been curated for travelers with a keen interest in photography and the iconic scenery of Southern Africa. Whether photography is your hobby, passion or profession, you will have the opportunity to capture shots of desert landscapes in Namibia, seascapes in Cape Town, African sunsets and wildlife in the Kruger and finally, the tropical nature of Benguerra Island in Mozambique. Expect an exclusive helicopter transfer through the famous Blyde River Canyon for a bird’s eye view of the third largest canyon in the world and a private helicopter transfer to Azura Benguerra, both of which promise spectacular photographic opportunities.
Your Southern Africa Photographic Journey starts on arrival at Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport. A representative will welcome you on arrival and transfer you to your lodge for the night. Located only 30-minutes from the airport lies the award-winning Naankuse Lodge set on a 3,200-hectare nature reserve. Check into your luxury chalet complete with air-conditioning, en-suite bathroom and a private verandah boasting spectacular views and photo opportunities. Depending on your time of arrival, take a sunset-horse ride through the reserve to capture the African sunset on your first day in Namibia.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and prepare for your transfer to Sossusvlei. Your driver will accompany you to the airport for your charter flight to a private airstrip located only 10-minutes from &Beyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. A lodge representative will welcome you on arrival and transfer you to the lodge. Check into your exclusive desert suite featuring in-room fireplaces, air conditioning, outdoor showers, and star-viewing skylights. Your time spent at Sossusvlei Desert Lodge will include a full-day tour to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, home to spectacular landmarks such as Deadvlei, Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Sesriem Canyon and the Big Daddy dune. Time at leisure can be spent enjoying the lodge swimming pool, partaking in guided nature walks to see San rock paintings, scenic nature drives or quad-bike excursions.
For excellent photographic opportunities, we highly recommend a scenic hot air balloon flight that departs in the early hours of the morning. In the evenings, experience unforgettable dune dining followed by stargazing at the sophisticated observatory.
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge and prepare for your onward journey to Cape Town, South Africa. Board your charter flight to Windhoek Airport where you will connect to your Cape Town bound flight. On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, our representative will meet you and transfer you to The Silo Hotel. Expect a short 20-minute drive to your iconic hotel located in Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. This award-winning hotel occupies six floors above Africa’s largest collection of contemporary African art – the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. The most significant feature of this hotel is its multi-faceted glass windows which have become the subject of architectural photography in Cape Town. Check into your suite and enjoy the magnificent views of Table Mountain in the distance.
Your time in Cape Town will encompass hand-selected experiences that promise photographic opportunities of note. Discover the city on a day tour of The Bo-Kaap, Kirstenbosch Gardens and a ride to the top of Table Mountain. Day tours include the not to be missed Cape Point Tour, Chapman’s Peak Drive, Boulder’s Beach and 12 Apostles Drive. As the hotel with the best land-based views of Table Mountain, end of your day on the Silo Hotel rooftop for sundowners and canapes.
Enjoy your final breakfast at The Silo Hotel and prepare for the start of your Kruger safari experience. Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to Hoedspruit Airport. Here you will board your connecting helicopter transfer via Blyde River Canyon to reach your final destination, Singita Lebombo Lodge. Check into your glass-walled suite boasting unobstructed views of the Kruger National Park landscape. Set on Singita’s 33,000-acre private concession in Kruger National Park, this exclusive stay is a haven for photographers. Your early morning and late afternoon game drives will be your opportunity to capture incredible, up-close shots of African wildlife, while the on-site multimedia room will allow you to select and edit your favorite photos of the day.
For your convenience, camera kits suited to wildlife photography are available for rent and are suitable for all levels of photographers. Walking safaris and stargazing are also available for guests who would like to capture scenes from a unique vantage point.
Camouflaged against the backdrop of the African bush, perched above the N’wanetsi River, Singita Lebombo is comprised of 13 suites that overlook the vast Kruger landscape. Other highlights include a 25m lap pool, an espresso bar, a wine studio, an interactive kitchen, a roof terrace, and a help-yourself deli.
Today marks the end of your wildlife safari in South Africa, but the start of your island getaway in Mozambique. Expect a short 1 hour, 10-minute flight.
