Ker & Downey® Africa > Accommodation > Somalisa Camp, Zimbabwe
From deep teak and acacia woodland to broad open savannah, Hwange National Park is a region of contrasts, providing travelers with a display of raw and diverse Africa. African Bush Camps’ Somalisa Camp is the perfect base from which to explore this African eden. Sat along the edge of an old seasonal floodplain, hidden under the dappled shade of an Acacia tree, this intimate bush camp is a place where peace meets adventure and promises an unforgettable Hwange safari.
The camp offers a variety of safari activities, such as guided morning and afternoon game drives, bush walks, and bird watching. For those looking for something different, there are additional cultural tours and even night safari drives available. In addition, every tent has a view of a watering hole, so you may frequently see wildlife come down to drink from the comfort of your own private deck.
Somalisa Camp leads the way in eco-friendly safari accommodation, with nature and opulence blending seamlessly. The organic elements of the bush and natural wood contribute to the camp’s attractive design. Kudhinda, a traditional Zimbabwean material, is tastefully combined with contemporary decor elements to create an authentically modern African look. Seven delightfully furnished luxury sail tents boast gauze sliding doors, an ensuite bathroom, an indoor and outdoor shower, a copper slipper-style bathtub and fan for the hot summer days.
