The Northern Tanzania circuit is perfect for first-time visitors to Tanzania and seasoned safari-goers alike. The confluence of classic safari elements, raw wildlife experiences, refined shelter choices and adventurous activities makes this northern circuit LuxVenture® one you can’t afford not to tick off the list. These eight unforgettable days carry you through four of the top Tanzanian safari regions and countless thrilling experiences including witnessing the Great Migration – one of the great wonders of East Africa.
Watch the famous Kilimanjaro mountain rise up over the horizon as you fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, near the Northern Kenyan border. Once safely on Tanzanian soil you will be met by your driver and driven through to your first stay on your LuxVenture® trip, Lake Duluti Lodge. As the name suggests Lake Duluti Lodge is situated on the banks of Lake Duluti, to the South of Arusha National Park. While this is simply an overnight stay on your trip, your short time on this 31 acre coffee farm will provide you with all the rest you need ahead of the adventurous days ahead. Spend the afternoon here simply soaking up the lake views or take a tour of this active coffee farm and find out why Tanzanian coffee is as lauded as it is.
Awake at Lake Duluti Lodge and enjoy another top drawer breakfast with incredible views before being driven South West to the famous Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is known for its large population of elephant as well as incredible big cat sightings particularly of lion and leopard – a recipe for safari success. Spend two full days chasing this success with a variety of game viewing activities including 4×4 game drives, night game drives (which open up a whole range of nocturnal species for you to discover), bird watching and canoeing. Also available during your time in Tarangire National Park is the opportunity to connect with the local people through visiting the local communities and learning more about their way of life in these wild lands. After your days of chasing encounters in Tarangire you will retire to Nimali Tarangire, a luxury lodge located in a private concession on the Eastern border of Tarangire National Park. Nimali Tarangire doesn’t compromise on a few key elements: comfort, exclusivity and style. Elements perfectly communicated through their six finely appointed suites, library, swimming pool overlooking a watering hole and much more.
On the morning of your fourth day in Tanzania, after breakfast you will be driven North, around the famous Lake Manyara to the Ngorongoro crater within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Your next two days will be spent at Lemala Ngorongoro, a luxury tented camp on the North-Eastern rim of the crater – providing you with the perfect vantage point from which to experience Tanzania’s most famous wildlife location. As is custom on LuxVenture® travel Lemala Ngorongoro secures two things for your 2 days at the crater: exclusivity and adventure. Exclusivity is delivered in the form of the limited 9 suites available at this incredible camp as well as the camp’s perfect positioning to provide you with easy access into the crater. Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp guests can be down in the floor of the crater within 15 minutes of leaving the camp, as opposed to the usual one hour journey of other camps in the region. As for adventure, the experiences available in and around the crater ensure thrills in large doses. Daily game drives through the crater and guided walks along the rim of the crater offer up wildlife encounters at every pace and point you could ask for while the unique Maasai boma experience allows you to truly connect with the local people of this famous region.
Today you will enter and experience yet another world-famous game viewing region of Tanzania – the Serengeti National Park. You won’t have to wait long, either. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area borders the Serengeti National Park, so your drive from Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp to your next shelter, Nyaruswiga Serengeti, is also a game drive. Trust this journey to feel over all too soon, until you discover Nyaruswiga Serengeti. This incredible lodge’s comfort is matched only by the hospitality of your hosts. Both of which combine to offer the perfect recipe for comfortable nights after your adventurous days in the Serengeti. Spend your two days experiencing safaris on foot, in 4×4 vehicles and, a highlight of every Tanzania trip, by air as you glide over the Serengeti in a hot air balloon.
Awake at the end of your Northern Tanzania safari, undoubtedly already dreaming of your return. This morning you will be driven to Seronera Airstrip for a scheduled flight to Arusha Airport. Once safely in Arusha, your layover will be made eased with luck at Arusha Coffee Lodge. After your lunch you will be driven back to Arusha Airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey home.
