Your South Africa Luxury Safari starts on arrival at Madikwe Game Reserve. Your journey continues as you head east to the Indian Ocean island of Mauritius. The St. Regis Mauritius Resort is located on the south-west coast, on the idyllic shores of Le Morne lagoon and beach. Check-in Molori Safari Lodge

Your 10 day Mauritius and South Africa Luxury Safari begin on touch down at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, where you will board a charter flight deep into the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. On arrival at Madikwe’s airstrip, a lodge representative will be waiting to accompany you to the secluded Molori Safari Lodge. Located close to the Botswana border, the luxury lodge offers absolute privacy with breath-taking views of the Dwarsberg Mountains. After check-in, you will have time to unpack and settle into your Premier Suite. With eclectic interiors, the suite features a spacious living room, floor-to-ceiling fireplace and leads out onto a private deck with a plunge pool – the perfect place to cool off after a day on safari. If you want to stretch your legs after your travels, you can visit the on-site fitness center which boasts state-of-the-art facilities as well as yoga and pilates equipment. The late afternoon calls for the first game drive of your South Africa luxury safari. You will depart from the main lodge alongside your expert guide and tracker into the 75,000-hectare reserve and tick lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard off your Big 5 sightings list. Your guide will stop at a selected viewpoint for you to enjoy a refreshing gin and tonic as the sun sets over the Madikwe plains.

Wake up with the sun and make your way to the main lodge for a hot drink and breakfast snack before embarking on a morning game drive into Madikwe Game Reserve. Conservation is an active and important part of life at Molori and the reserve is home to a healthy population of wild dogs, the second most endangered carnivore in Africa, as well as endangered cheetah and rhino. Soak up the wealth of knowledge from your expert guide as you traverse the African bush in an open 4×4 safari vehicle and learn how the team at Molori is working together to make a difference in wildlife conservation in Madikwe. Take a breather from exploring the reserve with a champagne bush breakfast before returning to the lodge. After an exhilarating morning in the bush, you can unwind with a book at the lodge’s library or visit the Molori Safari Spa. Enjoy refreshing body or skin treatments from the indoor spa or immerse yourself in nature on the outdoor treatment deck. As an alternative, you can choose to enjoy your treatment from the privacy of your own suite. In the late afternoon, you can visit the Molori Hide and Whiskey Bar. On the cusp on the waterhole, the hide gives you the opportunity to get up close to Madikwe’s wildlife – the perfect spot for budding photographers to get those award-worthy shots! Adjacent to the hide, you can lap up the views of the wildlife and Dwarsberg Mountains while sampling a variety of whiskeys and wines at the Molori Whiskey Bar. In the evening, make your way to the lodge’s boma for an alfresco dinner under the African sky as the expert team of chefs combine the freshest, home-grown, organic ingredients for a delectable dining experience.

Choose to continue your South Africa luxury safari with another morning game drive in the bush or join your guide on a bushwalk. Guided game walks invite you to track animals on foot, connect with the rhythm of nature and learn about the small wonders of the African bush from the industrious dung beetles to the medicinal properties of plants. Return to the main lodge for a hearty cooked breakfast. If the culinary life is to your liking, you can join Molori’s expertly trained chefs for a one-on-one cooking class and learn how to prepare indigenous dishes. In the evening, climb into your safari vehicle and embark into the bush to the Molori Bush Boma for a fire-side dinner surrounded by nature. On your way back to the lodge, spot Madikwe’s nocturnal wildlife including the elusive leopard and honey badger. Return to the lodge for a nightcap followed by stargazing at Molori’s observatory, boasting one of the largest privately-owned telescopes in Southern Africa

Transfer to Mauritius

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the African bush and to continue your adventure on the island of Mauritius. Your guide will accompany you to the Madikwe airstrip for your charter flight to OR Tambo. From here, you will board your scheduled flight to Mauritius, a mere 4-hour flight away. Touch down on the Indian Ocean island, where your dedicated driver will be waiting to accompany you to The St. Regis Mauritius Resort. Located on the south-west coast of the island, the resort is at the foot of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Morne, and overlooks an idyllic beach and calm lagoon. Check-in to your colonial-style Junior Ocean Suite and settle into the rhythm of luxury island living. In the evening, you can make your way to The 1904 Bar, for a refreshing drink before a world-class dinner at one of the resort’s 5 distinct dining venues, boasting cuisine from around the world.

Wake up to the sound of the ocean lapping the shore and make your way to breakfast, alternatively, choose to have your breakfast from the comfort of your suite. For the active traveler, the resort offers a fitness centre with state-of-the-art equipment. The resort boasts a Watersports Centre and you can fill your day discovering the lagoon with a mask and snorkel or on a kayak, standup paddleboard or glass-bottom boat. After a day out on the water, unwind at the Iridim Spa. Offering an array of tailored experiences, take in views of the Indian Ocean while enjoying a massage or beauty treatment. At 5pm, board a catamaran from Black River and sail towards Tamarin Bay. Your skipper will stop in the bay for you to take in the scenery, champagne in hand, of the Rempart Mountain as the sun dips below the horizon.
