With the only rooftop bar in Arusha, this is the perfect spot to enjoy sundowners while overlooking the exquisite 18 acres of lush, manicured gardens and tea and coffee plantations. On a clear day you can enjoy clear views of Mount Meru – Mount Kilimanjaro’s ‘little sister’. We recommend indulging in the gourmet buffet at the hotel’s main restaurant for dinner.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, a local Ker & Downey® Africa staff member will assist you with your 30-minute luxury transfer to Gran Melia to start this East Africa tour. This luxurious hotel is located on the edge of town, but still close enough to feel the energy and vibe. After checking in you will have time to explore the hotel and freshen up, while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings. On day 2, enjoy a delicious breakfast of everything from organic eggs to freshly-made waffles. After breakfast, our local guide will collect you for a half day guided tour of Arusha. This tour includes visits to the Arusha Central Market, craft shops, the Natural History Museum and independence monuments, while giving you a glimpse of the local culture. Return back to the hotel just after lunch to relax. In the afternoon, you will be assisted with a transfer to the domestic airport where you will embark on an experience of a lifetime – a scenic light aircraft flight over one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

This secluded lodge sits alone in a 312km2 community wildlife area and borders Tarangire National Park, so you can be assured absolute privacy and exclusivity. The scenic drive is about 4 hours with a stop at the famous Lake Manyara. Here, you will enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of this iconic soda lake. Depending on the time of year, you may get to see the thousands of pink-hued flamingos that visit this breathtaking natural marvel – make sure you have your cameras ready! You will arrive at Entamanu Ngorongoro in the late afternoon. Upon arrival at the Seronera airstrip you will be collected by one of the camp staff and embark on a 40-minute game drive from the airstrip to your next lodge. This game-rich area is known for its high populations of buffalo, giraffes, elephants, hyenas and big cats like lions and cheetahs. It is also home to the Great Wildebeest Migration which you will be able to witness if you visit during migration season. Enjoy a delicious final breakfast at camp before embarking on your return transfer to the Seronera Airstrip. From here, you will board a light aircraft for a 2-hour flight to Arusha. From here, another 45-minute road transfer will take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your outbound international flight home. You will have plenty of time on the flight to revel in your unforgettable experiences of three of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa.
