Ker & Downey® Africa > Trips > Chobe & Okavango Delta Safari
Experience the best of Botswana – two of Botswana’s most famous wildlife destinations, the Okavango Delta and the Chobe National Park in a week long discovery of the top safari destinations in Southern Africa. On this LuxVenture® Trip you will be challenged as you explore the Okavango Delta and Savuti regions of Botswana by 4×4, mokoro (traditional canoe), on-foot with your own private armed ranger and by air in a hot air balloon (May through October only). You will have a chance to connect with the team behind the camps and even take part in a local soccer match. You will be able to leave your own legacy if you wish by contributing your time to a local school. Watch out for elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs, hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, red letchwe, impala, honey badgers, hippos and crocodile.
Kadizora Camp, a 45 minute charter flight from Maun, is renowned for its uninterrupted views of the Okavango Delta as the camp is situated on the banks of a lagoon in a private concession, in one of the most visually breathtaking areas in Botswana. The Okavango Delta is in flood between July and September – this natural phenomenon draws a large range of wildlife to the waters, which in turn attracts predators towards the high concentration of game near Kadizora Camp. Included in this LuxVenture® trip is an incredible hot air balloon experience (May through October only) that will give you a birds-eye view of the Okavango Delta. You will also get the chance to experience a walking safari, canoe safari (water dependent) as well as daily game drives (on and off-road). 3 nights in total will be spent here at Kadizora Camp, located in the heart of the Okavango Delta. During your stay at Kadizora Camp, we can also arrange a highly recommended back-stage tour of the camp where you will be able to meet the families of the hard working camp staff and learn more about what it takes to run a safari camp in such a remote location. You may even find yourself helping out in the camp school or taking part in a soccer match so make sure to sharpen your skills before you visit.
This morning after breakfast, you will board your plane to travel directly to your next destination – Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge, the perfect mix of adventure, exclusive serenity and wildlife thrills. It will be your home for the next two nights of your LuxVenture® Trip. Ghoha Hills is situated on the ledge of the Ghoha Hills, on the Eastern side of the Savuti channel, Chobe National Park. The lodge is run solely on solar power making it a perfect match for the eco-conscious traveller. As with your stay at Kadizora Camp, Ker & Downey® Africa can arrange an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the lodge’s infrastructure to get a better understanding how it is operated. Chobe National Park is home to one of the most concentrated wildlife populations in the world, meaning your experience in Chobe National Park is one that is sure to bring incredible wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities. As with your first camp, the Ghoha Hills Lodge offers many daily wildlife activities including game drives, bird watching, guided walks as well as expert led star gazing in the evenings. We find that a glass of wine is the perfect companion for the latter activity but best avoided for the former…
End your Ker & Downey® Africa experience with an effortless check out of Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge before you are flown to Kasane for your onward travel home.
