Our Sub-Saharan Kenya Safari Experience is globally recognised as a world class trip, and for good reason. This 9 day trip is built to impress. Over your nine days exploring this wildlife mecca you will visit four of the best game-viewing regions in Kenya. 9 days could not be more action packed, from game drives and walking safaris through Amboseli, meeting members of Samburu tribes and quad biking through the Samburu National Reserve to hot air ballooning over the Masai Mara National Reserve – there is no shortage of life changing experiences here.
After arrival in Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling capital and largest city, you will be met by a Ker & Downey Africa representative for the start of your adventure and transfer to Giraffe Manor.
Your first stay in Kenya, Giraffe Manor is situated amongst 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest and is home to a herd of resident Rothschild giraffe that famously interact with guests that are lucky enough to have a world famous breakfast here.
Giraffe Manor is the perfect introduction of Kenya to prepare you for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast with the iconic giraffes, you will transfer to Wilson Airport and make your way by light aircraft flight to Tortilis Camp situated in Amboseli National Park. Famed for its magnificent elephants that roam the park, Amboseli has no shortage of wildlife encounters awaiting your arrival.
The very first eco-lodge in Kenya, Tortilis provides an extraordinary wildlife experience in combination with world class activities. Enjoy daily game drives, walking safaris, bush breakfasts all against the epic backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Enjoy another world-class breakfast at Tortilis Camp or out in the bush before being transferred back to Wilson Airport in Nairobi. From here you will fly in a light aircraft flight to the Samburu National Reserve. After your flight touches down, you will be met by a representative from Sasaab Lodge and transferred to the Moroccan and Swahili designed lodge.
The rugged and semi-desert park is situated in the Rift Valley Province. The park was once inaccessible which has preserved a raw and untamed essence. The park borders the homes of the nomadic Samburu tribe allowing you to experience their age-old ways of life.
The Ewaso Ng’iro river cuts through the park providing incredible game sightings due to the concentration of wildlife around the water source in the otherwise dry region, bringing about an incredible meeting of the biggest, fastest and most dangerous wildlife in Kenya.
Experience the reinvention of the safari as you explore this wildlife area by camelback. Traversing through the arid landscape, as well as areas inaccessible to vehicles by camel provides a unique perspective of the park that few have experienced. For the adrenaline junkies, quad bikes are available for you to explore the park at your own speed.
After your final breakfast at Sasaab Lodge it’s not uncommon for our guests not to want to leave. However, after arriving in the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, you will soon remember why you love exploring new destinations. You will enjoy a light aircraft flight from Saasab airrstrip to Masai Mara.
This next location on your Kenya Safari experience is named in honour of the Masai people that live, to this day, off of the land in the area, despite sharing their residence with big game and dangerous predators.
Your time in the Masai Mara National Park will be enriching, both due to unsurpassed wildlife encounters as well as unforgettable cultural experiences. LuxVenture™ trips are all about making a connection and leaving a positive legacy, and this is your opportunity to do just that.
Your home in the Masai Mara National Park is Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp. Situated in the park, where riverine forest meets expansive plains, the camp looks out directly at the path of the Great Migration, ask your Ker & Downey Africa adventurist about how to time your trip to witness this historic wildlife event from Kichwa.
Today, you will bid Kenya good-bye. The popularity of East Africa safaris is no longer a mystery to you. You will have time to enjoy a final breakfast in this idyllic location before packing up and heading back to Nairobi for your departing flight. On arrival at the domestic airport, our representative will meet & greet you and transfer you back to the international airport.
