Your Fly-in Luxury Namibia Safari begins in the vibrant city of Windhoek where you will be transferred from your hotel of choice to Eros Airport. Here, you will board a light aircraft flight and journey over the central highlands and ancient desert realms to the Sossusvlei Desert Lodge airstrip in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. On arrival, your guide will welcome you and transfer you to your lodge. Set against the backdrop of Sossusvlei Desert Reserve, the luxurious Sossusvlei Desert Lodge offers guests a secluded retreat on the border of an International Dark Sky Reserve, so you are assured a stargazing extravaganza. Explore the world’s oldest desert on specialist-led scenic 4×4 drives, guided desert walks and quad-bike tours. You will also have the opportunity to visit Namib Naukluft National Park. Home to some of the tallest sand dunes in the world, you will enter the Park gates at sunrise to capture the dunes whilst the light is soft and shadows accentuate their towering shapes and curves.
Located in the Sossusvlei Desert Reserve, Sossusvlei Desert Lodge features 10 luxurious stone and glass suites fitted with a living room, large retractable skylight, shaded veranda and a private plunge pool that overlooks the desert vista. The main guest area includes a bar, sitting room, walk-in cellar and interactive kitchen, as well as a sunrise fitness centre and spa.
Wake up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the desert. Your guide will meet you and transfer you to the nearby airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Mowani Mountain Camp. The flight will be via Swakopmund for a short stop. You’ll catch a birds eye view of Namibia’s captivating Atlantic coastline dotted with the haunting shipwrecks, crowded seal colonies, abandoned diamond camps and glittering lagoons of Walvis Bay. The secluded Mowani Mountain Camp is hidden amongst the towering boulders that make up the Damaraland and is the perfect base to explore this historical region. Discover the ancient rock engravings of Twyfelfontein, witness the desert adapted wildlife in Aba Huab River Valley and embark on the walking safari in the Damaraland desert in search of rhino and elephant.
This morning you will have an early departure from Mowani Mountain Camp as you make your north towards the southern border of Etosha National Park. Located in the privately-owned Ongava Game Reserve, Anderssons at Ongava offers guests accommodation in luxury chalets with modern decor. There are a total of 20 chalets.
Situated on a private reserve bordering Etosha National Park, this lodge features 20 luxury en-suite chalet which lead out to large wooden decks with comfortable seating and great views over the reserve.. It offers an refreshing swimming pool and a fabulous lounge area to relax.
Today marks the final day of your Fly-in Luxury Namibia Safari. After breakfast, you will make your way south, passing through the small towns of Outjo and Otjiwarongo before stopping at the Okonjima AfriCat Day Centre, an educational experience with which to conclude your safari. Okonjima is home to the AfriCat Foundation, a wildlife sanctuary which focuses on the research and rehabilitation of Africa’s big cats. Here, you will learn about the Foundation and meet some of the Foundation’s honorary ambassadors. From here, you will continue your journey south to your accommodation of choice in Windhoek, or Windhoek International Airport for your onward journey home.
