Ker & Downey® Africa > Accommodation > Singita Kwitonda Lodge, Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda
Named after the famed silverback gorilla, who was known for his gentle nature, Singita Kwitonda Lodge aims to provide discerning guests with a nurturing sanctuary of warmth and solitude. This luxurious haven is unrivalled in its location and luxury offerings, providing the ultimate base to explore the park and have a truly unforgettable experience with the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys.
Sharing a border with Volcanoes National Park, Singita Kwitonda is surrounded by high-altitude forest with dramatic views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes. Nature is the name of the game here, and sustainability and conservation are at the core of all the lodge’s activities. Their commitment to sustainability shines through in the dedicated Conservation Room and on-site nursery and vegetable garden which fuels Kwitonda’s farm-to-table food experience.
Sustainability also shines through the construction of the lodge. Woven ceilings and hand-fired terracotta brickwork, all locally crafted, make up the luxurious suites and villa, all complete with private plunge pool, spa treatment area and indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Breathtaking scenery can be enjoyed from everywhere in the lodge and guests will be hard-pressed to feel anything but deeply rejuvenated and transformed after their stay.
