A short 4×4 drive brings you to the striking Kwessi Dunes Lodge. Settle into your luxurious thatched-roof chalet and begin soaking up the vibrant desert landscape. Start the day with a morning desert walk, followed by a delicious breakfast at the lodge, before being transferred back to the local airstrip for a scenic light aircraft flight toward the Atlantic Coast. En route, you’ll pass the Eduard Bohlen, one of Namibia’s most iconic shipwrecks, as well as Conception Bay and Sandwich Harbor, before reaching one of the most remote and striking regions of Kaokoland. Upon arrival, a lodge representative will meet you and transfer you to Hoanib Valley Camp, where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. During your stay, you’ll head out on morning and afternoon game drives to discover the region’s remarkable flora and fauna, including insights into the ongoing giraffe research conducted here. With a bit of luck, you may also witness lions and elephants making their way to the nearby river to drink.
