Kenya is a unique destination in Africa, one that offers travelers a perfect blend of vibrant culture, thrilling adventure, and epic wildlife encounters. This 13-day itinerary will see you visit three iconic safari destinations, including the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Amboseli National Park, and the Lewa Conservancy. With luxurious camps and lodges as your base, you will have the opportunity to witness the famed Great Wildebeest Migration, discover new cultures, and learn the customs of the indigenous people who have carved and shaped the incredible Kenyan landscape for centuries.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will meet you and assist you through customs and immigration and onward to your awaiting private vehicle. Your driver will accompany you to the nearby Crowne Plaza Nairobi. This elegant hotel is ideally located for your time in Nairobi and gives you direct access to the vibrant city center. During your stay, you can enjoy a private guided tour of the city, which includes a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a pioneer in elephant rescue and rehabilitation, and the Karen Blixen Museum.
A representative will meet you at the Crowne Plaza Nairobi and accompany you to Wilson Airport. Today, you will journey to Keekorok Airstrip in the famed Masai Mara National Reserve. On touchdown, a lodge representative will meet you and transfer you to Elewana Sand River Masai Mara. Located on the banks of the Sand River, this exclusive tented camp will be your base for your time in the Mara. Spend your days on morning and afternoon game drives in custom-designed 4×4 safari vehicles, followed by time at leisure at the camp’s enticing infinity pool. Or sit back and witness the mega herds of wildebeest make their way across the Sand River from the comfort of your luxury tent. You will also have the opportunity to visit the local village to witness the traditions of the Maasai people. A hot air balloon safari can be pre-booked on request.
Situated on the banks of the Sand River, this award-winning luxury camp features 17 tented suites split between two separate camps, each with its own dining and communal areas to maximize privacy. The camp offers guests a luxurious stay with front-row seats to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration.
Today, you will venture out into the Mara for your final game drive before meeting your driver, who will transfer you to Keekorok Airstrip for your onward journey to Wilson Airport. From here, you will fly to Amboseli National Park– a park famous for its large herds of elephants and scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. On arrival, a lodge representative will meet you and transfer you to Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli. Located on the western edge of Amboseli, in a private conservancy, this camp guarantees absolute privacy, with very few safari vehicles competing for the wildlife action. Your time at this camp can be enjoyed on twice-daily game drives alongside highly qualified guides, as well as exhilarating bush walks led by a guide from the local Maasai community.

A lodge representative will meet you on arrival at Lewa Airstrip and transfer you to Elewana Kifaru House. Offering an exclusive and personalized stay, settle into one of the five luxury cottages on the property before enjoying all that this incredible destination has to offer. Your time here can be spent exploring Lewa Conservancy in 4×4 custom-designed open-sided safari vehicles, or venturing out on foot alongside one of the Samburu rangers on a guided bush walk. You will also have the opportunity to visit Ngare Ndare forest where you can encounter monkeys and an array of bird life, learn about wildlife conservation at the Conservancy, and visit the local Samburu communities of Tassia and Il Ngwesi.

After waving goodbye to the friendly and experienced staff at Kifaru House, you will be transferred to the Lewa Airstrip for your flight back to Wilson Airport. The Maasai people are an indigenous ethnic group living in Kenya and Tanzania. The name “Masai Mara” comes from the famous Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, named after the Maasai people.
The Maasai are known for their semi-nomadic lifestyle, rich cultural traditions, and striking red clothing. They originally migrated from South Sudan in the 17th and 18th centuries and settled in the savannahs of East Africa, where they continue to herd cattle.
Despite modern pressures to adopt a more settled way of life, many Maasai still maintain their traditional customs and live in harmony with nature, especially around conservation areas like the Masai Mara.
