This 8 day Luxury Kenya Safari invites you to discover two safari meccas, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara, and witness landscapes alive with activity from thousands of flamingos nesting on the shores Lake Nakuru to mega herds of wildebeest stampeding through the Mara. Whether you are a bird lover, wildlife photographer, first-time or seasoned safari-goer, this trip promises a wildlife experience par excellence.
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will welcome you and transfer you to The Palacina. A peaceful retreat in the bustling city of Nairobi, The Palacina is the perfect launch pad for your Kenya safari experience. Check-in to your suite and enjoy downtime at the indoor or outdoor swimming pool, or unwind after your flight with a luxurious spa treatment. Alternatively, you can venture further afield to visit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Karen Blixem Museum. In the evening, you can enjoy a drink at the Palacina Bar followed by dinner at the Bistro or make your way into town for dinner at one of the nearby restaurants.
The first leg of your luxury Kenya safari commences as your dedicated guide meets you and transfers you through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will check in to The Cliff, an exclusive luxury camp perched on a rugged cliff top. The camp’s tented suites boast 180 degree views of Lake Nakuru – a unique soda lake in the park and feeding ground to thousands of flamingos. Balance your mind, body and soul with morning yoga and stretching sessions and rejuvenating spa treatments, or make your way to the gym pavilion to get your blood pumping before heading out on morning and evening game drives in search of the rare Rothschild Giraffe, leopard, lion, buffalo and rhino. A highlight of your safari experience will be visiting the famous ‘Pride Rock’ and an excursion further afield to the towering red cliffs of Hell’s Gate National Park.
After a refreshing breakfast overlooking the shimmering waters of Lake Nakuru, your dedicated guide will meet you and transfer you to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. This will be a scenic nearly 5 hour drive with stops on route. This wildlife mecca is renowned for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration and promises epic year-round game viewing. Your base in the Mara, the luxurious Sand River Masai Mara, is located on the banks of the Sand River and reflects the glamour of a 1920s safari camp with a modern ‘low impact’ philosophy. Discover the Mara on expertly guided game drives or witness the mega herds of wildebeest make their way across the Sand River for the comfort of your luxury tent.
Located on the banks of the Sand River, this exclusive tented camp offers guests a luxurious stay with front row seats to the annual Great Wildebeest Migration. The property features 17 tented suites split between two separate camps each with its own dining and communal areas to maximise privacy.
Discover the Masai Mara on daily 4×4 safari game drives is search of epic wildlife or sit back on your private deck and let the herds of wildebeest come to you. During your stay you will have the opportunity to visit a local village and school, and hot air balloon safaris can be pre-booked on request.
Wake up and enjoy a refreshing breakfast in the Masai Mara, before your guide transfers you to the nearby airstrip for your short-haul flight to Wilson Airport and onward journey home.
