Desert drama in architected refuge

Stranded between wind-borne dunes and the icy Atlantic, Shipwreck Lodge’s ten chalets are sculptural echoes of the rusting wrecks that dot the Skeleton Coast. Positioned along the Hoarusib River mouth, these solar-powered refuges – eight twin/double and two family units – offer private decks, indoor showers, wood-burning stoves, and dramatic desert-to-ocean panoramas.

Central to the lodge is a sculpted communal space, complete with lounge, dining area, bar, fireplace, library, and wraparound deck, where guests sip sundowners as tawny dunes morph into ocean at sunset.
