Aswan
Set on the banks of the Nile, Aswan is a serene city known for its rich Nubian culture, feluccas, and ancient temples. Once Egypt’s southern frontier, it’s now a gateway to sites like Philae Temple and Abu Simbel, offering a slower, more soulful take on Egyptian history.

Your Best of Egypt LuxVenture® starts on arrival at Cairo International Airport where a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will meet you and swiftly assist you through customs and immigration. From the airport, you will be transferred to the luxurious Kempinski Nile Hotel – a five-star hotel on the banks of the Nile River. In the afternoon, you can enjoy time at leisure at the hotel or take an easy stroll to experience the charm of Cairo firsthand. In the evening, enjoy a refreshing drink at the poolside bar overlooking the city and celebrate your first night in Egypt.

After breakfast, your dedicated Egyptologist guide will meet you for a day of adventure. Explore the Egyptian Museum, home to over 120,000 artifacts and King Tutankhamen’s golden treasures – the star attraction of this world-famous museum, before an expertly guided walking tour through Cairo to Khan El Khalil market. A highlight of your time in Cairo will be an excursion to see the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx – the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt. After an authentic lunch in the desert, you can enjoy a peaceful camel ride across the sands of Giza, before returning to your hotel.

In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to the opulent Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Hotel on the banks of the Nile. A highlight of your time will be a leisurely felucca cruise down the Nile and around Elephantine Island at sunset – perfectly paired with a refreshing drink. Back at the hotel, you can make your way back to the hotel’s restaurant for dinner on the terrace overlooking Elephantine Island and Khnum Temple.

The giant statue has been standing for over 3,200 years and flanks the entrance to one of the most impressive temples in this country’s history. At midday, you will board the Sun Goddess for a luxurious 5-star cruise down the River Nile. Your cruise will take you to some of the most sought-after historical sites in Egypt including Kom Ombo Temple – home to crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old, the Temple of Horus in Edfu, the Valley of Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and Karnak – the largest religious complex ever built for a god. Your journey ends at Luxor, home to some of Egypt’s most significant surviving ancient monuments, temples and tombs.
