This is an epic, once-in-a-lifetime journey from Cape Town to Cairo, covering 6,200 miles. You’ll visit South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and last but not least, Egypt. It includes visiting one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and five of the seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Cape to Cairo LuxVenture® takes into account all logistics and the best possible flight solutions to make one seamless, unforgettable bucket list trip to Africa. Intrepid adventurers that undertake this journey will leave as a true child of the African continent, while also leaving a positive and lasting impact on Her soil. There is no roughing it, there is nothing but luxurious accommodation with VIP meet and greet, private transfers, private day tours where applicable and many highlights on the way. Some of which include a boat cruise down the iconic Chobe River, mokoro canoes, a guided tour of Victoria Falls, night game drives, bush picnics, and relaxing on white sandy beaches to name a few. This trip culminates in Egypt, where you’ll experience the archaeological beauty of the temples, monuments, tombs, and artifacts of the Ancient Egyptian civilization.
Cape to Cairo LuxVenture® begins upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport where a Ker & Downey® Africa representative will meet you and transfer you through to the renowned V&A Waterfront. Check into a luxury room at the chic Dock House hotel. After this, you’ll have time to refresh up and relax or explore the 200 shops and restaurants on the hotel’s doorstep. On day two, experience a private half day city tour, which will take in the sights and sounds of the vibrant and energetic city of Cape Town as well as the iconic Table Mountain. The following day, embark on a private, full day Cape Point & Peninsula Tour. This tour follows the route which covers the Atlantic seaboard and visits famous attractions like Cape Point Nature Reserve and Boulders Beach. The latter is known for its penguin colony.
After four glorious nights in the Mother City, enjoy a private transfer to the winelands town of Stellenbosch. Here, you’ll luxuriate in the official home of the Pinotage wine – Lanzerac Hotel. Located just outside of this quaint town on a large wine farm, enjoy fantastic views of the vineyards, beauty treatments at the award-winning spa, gourmet picnic lunches and partake in wine tastings with red and white local wines.
Next up is a transfer back to Cape Town International Airport and a scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport, in the heart of the world-famous Kruger National Park. Your safari home for the next three nights is Londolozi Varty Camp for an unforgettable safari experience.

Following the last early morning game drive and a hearty breakfast at Londolozi, you will be transferred to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for a direct two-and-a-half hour flight to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. Upon arrival, and once through customs (we suggest a Kaza visa), our representative will transfer you across to Botswana. Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, where you will stay, is about a 40 minute drive from the border. The safari starts right away as the drive traverses through Chobe National Park to get there. Experience spectacular game viewing opportunities while staying at this comfortable lodge.
On day 14 of this Cape to Cairo itinerary, enjoy a morning boat cruise or game drive activity before departing to Kasane Airport where you will board a light aircraft for a scenic flight to Khwai Private Reserve. Check into Khwai Leadwood for an exclusive wilderness experience as this is one of the newer and most luxurious camps in the area. Located on the banks of the pristine Khwai River you can experience both land and water based activities, where you can often see elephants, hippos and even lions crossing the river. They also offer night game drives in the private concession.
The following morning, you’ll take another light aircraft flight to one of the highlights – the Okavango Delta. We have chosen another new, year-round camp called Duke’s Camp, which is known for its carefully positioned location as it overlooks a permanent body of water. Adorned with vintage safari furniture, the 12 canvas safari suites provide the perfect Okavango Delta experience.

The Victoria Falls portion begins after a morning activity at Duke’s Camp, then a light aircraft flight back to Kasane Airport. From the airport, take a one-and-a-half hour road transfer across the new Kazungula bridge to the premier and historical Victoria Falls Hotel. With a prime location, you can easily walk into town and explore the many curio shops or traditional restaurants. Enjoy your time in the region of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. There are two prime and popular activities included, which are the three hour sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and a guided tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls.
This Edwardian-style and Zimbabwe’s oldest hotel from 1904, features 149 rooms and suites. It is set in lush tropical gardens and boasts three restaurants, a spa, hair salon, gym, mini golf and a swimming pool. Just a five minute walk from the mighty Victoria Falls, the spray can be seen from the main breakfast restaurant and from the hotel terrace.
After a leisurely breakfast at the Victoria Falls Hotel, transfer to Victoria Falls International Airport for a three hour commercial flight to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival and once through customs there will be a transfer waiting for you to Hemingways Nairobi. You will have two nights to relax while staying in your deluxe suite and enjoy the sights and sounds that Nairobi has to offer. This hotel is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is set in a peaceful suburb from the bustle of central Nairobi. In the evening we recommend dining in as the menu in the restaurant is extensive with an international standard. You can also spend time in the gym or in the refreshing swimming pool. On day two of your Nairobi stay, we have included a half day private tour of Nairobi, which will take you to many of the historical and popular attractions in the city.
After a hearty breakfast and easy check out, take a transfer to the domestic airport Wilson Airport. From here, you’ll board a light aircraft flight to the quintessential Masai Mara National Reserve. The lodge staff will meet and transfer you through to Ol Seki Hemingways Mara. The camp is situated in a community-owned Naboisho Conservancy, which is known for its large numbers of elephants, big cats, giraffes, the endangered wild dogs and other plains game. Enjoy a full-day game drive in the Masai Mara (including breakfast & lunch), night game drives, three hour walking safaris, Maasai village visits, horseback riding safaris and N’dorobo cave visit.

The next morning, on day 26 of this epic itinerary, enjoy your last morning game drive or walking safari followed by a scrumptious breakfast at the camp. You’ll then take a light aircraft flight to the central Serengeti, as you arrive in Tanzania today. From the Seronera airstrip, you will transfer to your first Tanzania safari lodge – Dunia Camp. This property offers incredible views over the Serengeti and is located near the Moruk Kopjes, which means it is away from the crowds of the busier sections of the park. A highlight of your stay in the Serengeti is the ultimate bucket list activity of a hot air balloon safari as you glide over the savannah.
After three glorious nights in this iconic game-rich park, transfer to the local airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Manyara. From here transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the next camp – Lemala Ngorongoro. Check into the tented suite that is located in an ancient acacia forest close to the crater. The property is located close to the entrance of the crater floor so game drives can start as early as 6:15am. Visiting the crater is bound to be yet another highlight as it is one of the best places to spot endangered animals like black rhino and wild dogs and also has the highest concentration of lions in the world.
After a morning activity and breakfast at Lemala, take a transfer to the airport for your international flight to the tropical island of Zanzibar. Your bungalow at the luxury resort – Zuri Zanzibar awaits. Upon arrival, our representative will transfer you to Kendwa, on the western shores of the island. Relax and enjoy the down time for 5 days, 4 nights of beautiful sunsets, spectacular sunrises, delicious cuisine and azure waters. There will also be a guided half day tour of the Stone Town.
The pen-ultimate day of Tanzania starts with a short flight back to the mainland to Dar Es Salaam where you will stay for 1 night at the Oyster Bay Hotel. Although this is added in for logistical reasons, this charming hotel has large gardens and ocean facing guest suites. Known for its lunch of lobster and champagne, this could be the time for a spoil.

Located in the bustling city of Dar Es Salaam, relax in the afternoon in the sparkling swimming pool or a refreshing cocktail under the warm Tanzanian sun. In the evening you can walk to the nearby Oyster Bay shopping center for a local meal or try the outstanding cuisine at the hotel restaurant.
Spend 7 days in Egypt visiting Cairo, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Giza Pyramids & Sphinx, Aswan, Philae temple, enjoy a Felucca ride on the Nile, then the Kom Ombo temple and Luxor by night, the famous Valley of the Kings, Hatshepusut temple, the Colossi of Memnon and Islamic Cairo.
Arrive at Cairo International Airport. The Ker & Downey Africa representative meet-and-assist service will take you through the passport control area, assist with your luggage and customs. Then accompany you to your hotel in Cairo and assist with check-in. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
The following day you will visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum in the world for one single civilization. Stand face-to-face with the Golden Mask of the boy King Tutankhamun. You will be dazzled with the amount of treasures and artifacts that this museum holds. After lunch in a local authentic restaurant, Visit the Giza Pyramids, the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the World. Ride a camel out in the desert and stand in front of the imposing Sphinx, the combination of human intelligence and the strength of a lion.
After breakfast at the hotel in Cairo, take an early morning flight to Aswan on the southern border of Egypt and check-in at your hotel. Afterwards, you will visit the temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess of love and passion, Isis. In the late afternoon there is a leisurely felucca sailboat on the river Nile.
On day 4 of the Egypt portion, there is a transfer to Luxor. En-route visit the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile and the falcon gods. Stop at the Crocodile Mummification Museum, where you will see crocodile mummies that are thousands of years old. Late afternoon arrival at Luxor. After a quick check in and some time to relax in the hotel, in the evening there will be a visit to a Luxor temple that was predominantly built by Pharaoh Ramses the second. The next day visit the Valley of the Kings, a sure highlight.
After breakfast fly back to Cairo where in the afternoon you will have time to walk through the old streets of Islamic Cairo and the famous Khan El Khalil market. Now is the time to get any last minute shopping and gifts before heading home the following morning. What a thrilling journey this will have been.
