Travel cues: Recommendations for your time off

Inspiration

Let’s be honest, we all crave a time-out session to enjoy the finer things in life – to read that book you’ve been dying to read, travel to your heart’s content or simply enjoy a fine scotch on your balcony. If you are running out of ideas, have no fear, we have the travel cues you should know about. Here are a round of recommendations from our CEO, Lee Kelsall. Take note, then get going.

01 Adventure to pursue

“My brother and I spent a month living with a Masai village on the border of the Mara Conservancy. It was an incredible learning experience. We spent a couple of nights sleeping out in the open outside of the village which was pretty intense, not much sleep those nights…”

02 Trip to tackle

“My next stop is the oldest desert in the world. I’m about to embark on a road trip to Namibia with a couple of my best mates from university. I’ve recently found out that I’m going to be a father so this is likely to be my last tour for a while! We’re driving up from Cape Town, then onto Fish River Canyon, Luderitz, Sossusvlei and Swakopmund where we’ll be jumping out of a plane over the Skeleton Coast. Should be epic.”

03 Things to pack

“Travel light and make use of the laundry services in your safari lodge (it’s often included in the price). Remember a hat and make sure you have cloud storage set-up in advance for your photos and sync with wifi every chance you get. Use local guides to give you the best insights. Walk every chance you get.”
