Giraffe Manor in Nairobi

Written by Lindsay Krause

Giraffe Manor is a boutique hotel in the Langata suburb of Nairobi, Kenya. Set in an iconic manor house dating back from the 1930’s, this exclusive property has only 10 rooms and accommodates a maximum of 25 guests. With its sunny terraces, secret courtyards, pristine gardens and its majestic giants, this property is a one of a kind retreat in the heart of Africa.

Giraffe Manor has climbed the ranks of must visit properties in Africa, and the world, for its fascinating herd of resident Rothschild Giraffes who roam the 12 acres of private land freely and inquisitively. Guests visiting Kenya are able to have the complete “Out of Africa” experience at Giraffe Manor – elegant accommodation decorated in timeless antiques and history, close encounters with African wildlife and more than enough time to spend at leisure in true safari style. Guests can unwind after a day of exploring the surrounds by indulging in a spa treatment from the on-site massage therapist, or enjoy an afternoon high tea with the inquisitive giraffes.

However, as Giraffe Manor is usually a one night stay over en route to your safari in other regions of Kenya, the answer of when to visit Giraffe Manor depends on which area of Kenya you’re travelling to for the rest of your trip.
