Ken joins the team with over 35 years of experience in destination training and the global promotion of East and Southern African safari lodges and luxury boutique hotels. He has an accomplished career in the industry and is a valuable asset to the Ker & Downey® Africa team.

Born and Bred

Ken was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and has lived in the United States for over 20 years.

Highlight of his time in the industry

Ken’s entire career has been devoted to hospitality, superlative client service, luxurious wildlife safaris and high-end leisure excursions. He has represented more than 50 top brands in Southern and East Africa including Singita Private Game Reserves, Ellerman House, The Collection by Liz McGrath, Tintswalo Safari Portfolio and Thanda Private Game Reserve. His highlight in the industry was being part of the team that got Singita to World’s #1 Destination in 2002.

Travel Expertise

Ken has traveled extensively throughout Africa. He has visited countless camps, lodges and boutique hotels in Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zanzibar and Kenya. He is an expert in Southern and East Africa and has been involved in selling the regions for 35 years.
