Day 1 / Arrive in Nairobi, Giraffe Manor

After arrival in Nairobi, Kenya’s bustling capital and largest city, you will be met by a Ker & Downey Africa representative for the start of your adventure and transfer to Giraffe Manor.

Ever dined with giraffes? Well, the exclusive boutique hotel is situated amongst 12 acres of private land within 140 acres of indigenous forest and is home to a herd of resident Rothschild giraffe who will join you for breakfast and dinner each day in the hope of sharing a meal with you. Literally.

Giraffe Manor is the perfect introduction of Kenya to prepare you for the adventure ahead.

Day 2-3 / Amboseli, Tortilis Camp

After breakfast with the iconic giraffes, you will transfer to Wilson Airport and make your way to Tortilis Camp situated in the Amboseli National Park, famed for its magnificent elephants that roam the park.

The very first eco-lodge in Kenya, Tortilis provides a mind-blowing wildlife experience in combination with heart pumping activities. Gaze at Mt. Kilimanjaro in the distance from your room or venture out into the wild and explore the surrounding area on game drives, guided walks, bush breakfasts and much more.

Day 4-5 / Samburu National Reserve, Sasaab Camp

Enjoy another world-class breakfast at Tortilis Camp or out in the bush before transferring to the Samburu National Reserve. After your chartered flight touches down, you will be met by a representative from Sasaab Lodge and transferred to the Moroccan and Swahili designed lodge.

The rugged and semi-desert park is situated in the Rift Valley Province. The park was once inaccessible which has preserved a raw and untamed essence. The park borders the homes of the nomadic Samburu tribe allowing you to experience their age-old ways of life.

Hold on as you explore the park on the back of a camel. Traversing through the arid landscape, as well as areas inaccessible to vehicles, on a camel’s back provides a unique perspective of the park that few have experienced. For the adrenaline junkies, quad bikes are available for you to explore the park at your own will, allowing you a sense of complete freedom.

The Ewaso Ng’iro river cuts through the park providing incredible game sightings due to the concentration of wildlife around the water source in the otherwise dry region, bringing about an incredible meeting of the biggest, fastest and most dangerous wildlife in Kenya.

Day 6-8 / Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp, Masai Mara National Reserve

After your final breakfast at Sasaab Lodge, we have no doubt that you will not want to leave. However, after arriving in the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, you will soon remember why you love seeing new places.

This next location on your Kenya Safari experience is named in honor of the Masai people that live, to this day, off of the land in the area despite sharing their residence with big game and dangerous predators. Your time in the Masai Mara National Park will be enriching, both due to unsurpassing wildlife encounters as well as unforgettable cultural visits.

Gaze out over what seems like the entire Masai Mara after you hike the Oloololo Trail to the escarpment. Visit a Masai village and learn about the ancient ways of these nomadic people. And, if you dare, take an awe-inspiring hot air balloon ride over the plains.

Your home in the Masai Mara National Park is Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp. Situated in the park where riverine forest meets expansive plains, the camp looks out directly at the path of the Great Migration allowing you to feel the stampeding hooves of the millions of wildebeest and zebra, as well as the predators following from behind.

Day 9 / Departure

Once you have completed your last breakfast in the African bush, you will bid farewell to the land and begin your transfer to JKI Airport for your onward journey.

As we didn’t have any experience traveling to Africa and no knowledge of the game-viewing experience, we had to totally trust your recommendations and handling of this trip. What you delivered was beyond our wildest dreams!
